ROUTE - BACKSIDE MOUNT BIDARA

The route follows the back side of the mountain Bidara. Bidara has the shape of an arc, and can be seen from anywhere in Gudauri. It is beautifully exposed to the Jvari pass (2379 meters), which is where the trip ends.

 

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE:

 

As soon as group is underfoot of Bidara and prepare to start the ascent by skitouring or snowshoes. 

On the top, after a short photo session, we begin an unforgettable run on the northern slope which supports untouched snow. Bidara combines the chance of skiing on virgin slopes and possibility of choosing a variety of different routes. Our experienced guides will choose for you the best and safest option. The route ends at the pass of Jvari but no one wants to see this stunning hillside ever end.

 

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:

 

  • Freeride ski/snowboard (available for hire)

  • Backpack with fastening for ski or snowboard

  • Transceiver, avalanche probe, shovel (available for hire)

  • Helmet

 

The price of our program includes a safe descent to the destination with two guides, improving riding techniques (if needed), and a shuttle service from the finish line to the resort of Gudauri.

 

In case of ideal weather conditions, the program can be repeated several times a day.
